Meet the Cast
Darcelle XV Showplace is a historic drag venue that has entertained audiences since 1967.
Founded by Walter Cole, known professionally as Darcelle XV, the club is home to the longest-running drag show on the West Coast.
Over the decades, Darcelle XV Showplace has become a Portland icon, renowned for its vibrant performances and lasting impact on the city’s cultural landscape. In 2020, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, cementing its status as a cherished cultural landmark.
Darcelle XV
Darcelle XV was more than a legend—she was the heart and soul of Portland’s entertainment scene. Walter Cole wore many hats: author, playwright, actor, costume designer, and, of course, the beloved headliner and owner of the iconic Darcelle XV Showplace. For over 50 years, she dazzled audiences, earning the Guinness World Record in 2018 as the “Oldest Working Drag Queen.” Her story lives on in her autobiography, Just Call Me Darcelle (available on Amazon). Here at Darcelle XV Showplace, we’re proud to carry on her incredible legacy and keep her spirit shining bright.

Mr. Mitchell
Mr. Mitchell has been lighting up the stages from PDX, NYC, LA, and beyond for over 45 years! Capturing the likenesses of Sir Elton John, Prince & Frank Sinatra, just to name a few. Mr. Mitchell’s attention to detail is not only in his performances, but he’s equally well known for his unparalleled costuming. Whether shaking a yellow floor-length ostrich feather coat, a fully hand-beaded dazzling jacket, or any one of his custom designs, he always makes the spotlight shine. Mr. Mitchell is that rare breed of entertainer who proves the Show Must Go On and always gives it that Razzle Dazzle!
Poison Waters
For more than 30 years, countless people have laughed, celebrated, and been inspired by the one and only Poison Waters. As the beloved co-hostess at Darcelle XV and the star of her hit show, Poison Waters & Friends, she brings joy both virtually and in person. Beyond the spotlight, Poison has built incredible partnerships with Oregon Ballet Theatre, Portland Opera, Cascade AIDS Project, and KATU’s AM Northwest. Whether on stage or in the community, her energy, charm, and heart make every experience unforgettable. Bebe Jay
Bebe Jay is Portland’s fiery, unstoppable Latina showgirl, bringing passion, glamour, and a love for entertainment wherever she goes. Hailing from the stunning Pacific paradise of Acapulco, Mexico, she’s made her mark in the pageant world, winning titles across the U.S., including La Femme Magnifique International (produced by Darcelle XV in 2007), Miss NorthWest in Seattle, Miss UTOPIA International, multiple Island Show Queen titles in Hawaii, and Queen of the South USA in Chicago. Always up for an adventure, Bebe Jay loves traveling the world and cherishing time with family in Mexico.
Cassie Nova
Cassie Nova is pure magic on stage, living up to her star-powered name! She joined the cast in 2006, starting with charity work through the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court before stepping into the spotlight at the legendary Darcelle XV Showplace. Now a beloved co-host, she brings unstoppable energy and charisma to every performance. Cassie has a way of making everyone feel like part of the show, creating unforgettable moments with her dynamic numbers and infectious personality. Whether she’s making you laugh, dance, or cheer, one thing’s for sure—you’ll leave with a huge smile and a happy heart!
Alexis Campbell Starr
Alexis Campbell Starr, Rose Empress 64, is more than just a stunning performer—she’s a powerhouse with a purpose. For her, building community isn’t just important, it’s everything. She’s always finding new ways to bring people together, and her dedication was recognized in USA Today for creating safe, welcoming spaces during the pandemic. Whether she’s on stage or behind the scenes, Alexis is all about lifting the LGBTQIA community and making sure everyone has a place to belong. When she’s involved, you know it will be something special—because for Alexis, it’s not just about the spotlight, it’s about the people.
BinKyee Bellflower
BinKyee Bellflower, a radiant gem from Malaysia, made Portland her home in 2017 and has been turning heads ever since! With an unstoppable spirit and a passion for performance, she stepped into the drag scene, joining the cast in 2021 and never looked back. Known for her electrifying stage presence and stunning looks, BinKyee has dazzled audiences across Portland, eventually snatching the crown as La Femme Magnifique International 2022/23 after conquering the Oregon pageant. More than just a performer, she’s a beacon of positivity and empowerment, leaving a little sparkle (and a lot of joy) everywhere she goes!
T’Kara Campbell Starr
T’Kara Campbell Starr, a Portland native, is a powerhouse performer who shines in every spotlight she steps into. A former La Femme Magnifique International 2018, Miss Gay Portland 48, and Rose Empress 63, she’s a true queen of many talents. Whether she’s dancing, acting with Triangle Productions, strutting New York runways, or raising money for charity, she brings energy, passion, and undeniable star power. Known as the Black Diamond Empress, T’Kara is all about bold looks, big hair, and even bigger performances. With a love for Balenciaga shoes and a motto about execution over planning, she’s a fierce force to be reckoned with!
Bolivia Carmichaels
Bolivia Carmichaels is a beloved Portland drag performer known for her quick wit, powerful presence, and decades-long dedication to the art of drag. A true staple of the Pacific Northwest entertainment scene, she captivates audiences with her charisma, comedy, and commanding stage style. Whether hosting a lively drag brunch, performing to a packed nightclub, or mentoring the next generation of queens, Bolivia brings authenticity, heart, and humor to everything she does. Her contributions to the local queer community extend far beyond the stage, making her not just an entertainer, but a cherished figure and fierce advocate in Portland.
Brandi Mae
Also known as the new owner of Darcelle XV Showplace, Brandi Mae brings an impressive three-decade Drag career to the stage. Known for her passion and dedication, Brandi is committed to honoring the club’s rich history while embracing innovation and creativity. Brandi’s deep connection to the legacy of Darcelle XV is rooted in a longtime friendship, making her leadership a meaningful continuation of the club’s iconic presence in Portland’s Drag community.
